Mirror Lake is a different maintenance problem than the older Douglasville neighborhoods. The lots are compact, the houses sit close to the street, and every square foot of turf is visible from the sidewalk. There's nowhere to hide a sloppy trim line or a missed corner. On a half-acre lot a rough edge disappears into the scale of the property. On a Mirror Lake front yard it's the first thing anybody sees.
So on these properties the edging and detail work is not a finishing touch — it's most of the job. Hard edge along the drive and walk every single week, clean trim around mailbox posts, downspouts, AC pads and light poles, and a full blowdown of the drive, walk and street gutter before we pull off. The mow itself takes ten minutes. The detail is what people are actually paying for, and it's what keeps the property looking like the nicest one on the block.
Bermuda, sun, and getting the height right
Mirror Lake yards are overwhelmingly Bermuda in full sun, which is the easiest grass in Georgia to make look incredible and the easiest to ruin. Bermuda wants to be cut low and cut often. Let it go two weeks in June and you're taking off far more than a third of the blade at once, which scalps it, exposes brown stem, and leaves clumps of clippings sitting on top of the lawn baking in the sun.
That's the core reason we only run weekly service. On a Bermuda lawn in a Douglasville summer, weekly isn't a premium option — it's the minimum schedule that keeps the turf dense and even. Once the grass is running properly, weekly cuts at a consistent low height push it to spread laterally and choke out bare spots on its own.
Route density is why the price works here
Mirror Lake is a large community and we already have clients scattered through several of its sections. Because these are small lots sitting close together, we can service a run of homes without moving the truck much — and that efficiency is exactly why weekly service starts at $55 here. Our business model depends on clustered routes, not on charging more.
